(when available)
We are proud to announce that three of our sixteen artists that entered were accepted into Western Federation 35 this year! Congratulations to Peg Lozier for her "Quat Side Chat", Shirley Jeane for her "It Ain't No Harley" and Barbara Yoerg for her "Chaos" painting. Juror Carla O'Connor chose three very different styles of paintings of great quality, which gives us a hint that the WFWS35 in Utah this spring will be great! See their paintings in March's newsletter.
Western Federation of Watercolor Societies Exhibit in Las Vegas

Here's a little bit of background about "Western Fed".......
The Western Federation of Watercolor Societies (WFWS) recognizes artistic excellence through competitions and encourages the visibility
of watercolor as an artistic medium through its annual exhibitions. WFWS
was founded in 1974 by the New Mexico Watercolor Society through the foresight and work of Dr. David Gale (1915-1980). Today WFWS includes over 5000 artists in eleven regional societies.
The Western Federation of Watercolor Societies (WFWS) sponsors an annual juried exhibition which is hosted each year by a different regional member society. The WFWS exhibitions have works on paper, including paper collage, created with a variety of water-based media: casein, gouache, tempera, acrylic and transparent or opaque watercolors. A diversity of artistic expression is the result. Membership in WFWS is automatic for any artist who is a member of any of the eleven different regional societies including the Nevada Watercolor Society.
